✧ This project was awarded First Place at the HUION + Keep in Motion Animation Challenge ✧
For this animation, the challenge was to portray the theme "motion madness". This was the perfect excuse for me to do something I aways wanted to do: mix different animation techniques in one unique crazy video.
I used acrylic paint, oil pastels, colored pencils, printing, scanning, cutting, stop motion, 3D in Blender, 2D animation, paper character rigs, and composition in After Effects.

Hand Painted Frame by Frame Animation
Each frame was printed and painted with acrylic paint, oil pastels, colored pencils. For the melting scene, I imagined how each object would distort and painted it.
All the painted frames were then scanned and put into sequence
Stop Motion
Double faced head made out of clay. Photos of it rotating every 30 degrees were taken to make a photo sequence.
Photo sequence animated in After Effects. Light reflection added.
Analog to Digital Collage
Each frame of the hand and props were printed, cut out and scanned
Compositing
Papercut asset animated with puppet pins
Blender 3D modeling to After effects 3D animation
Papercut character rigged with Duik
Tunnel pattern painted on photoshop. Animated with expressions and CC Power Pin
This piece explores the shift from limitation to creative freedom
A mouse transforms into a pen, marking the shift from the restrictions of using a mouse to the freedom of expression the huion pen brings.
As reality distorts, the character is pulled into a vortex of creativity where ideas flow without constraint.
As reality distorts, the character is pulled into a vortex of creativity where ideas flow without constraint.
At the end of the journey, now fully immersed in this creative flow, they catch the pen and bring the video itself to life.
Elements from the initial workspace reappear throughout the vortex, creating visual unity throughout the different media.
